The Mississippi Sound Conservancy, (“MSC”), is a newly established nonprofit organization created to implement community outreach programs to help educate the public about its stewardship of important coastal marine fisheries’ habitat resources. The MSC mission also includes research, development, monitoring, and maintenance of beachfront water quality and critical habitat in the Mississippi Sound.

Mississippi Sound Conservancy is developing projects to help restore, protect, and sustain critical habitat for all coastal fisheries that include federally listed endangered species. Implementation and maintenance of these projects will also benefit the public by improving the water quality along coastal beach fronts.

1866 Mississippi Sound Survey Edited

The Mississippi Sound extends from Mississippi’s and Louisiana’s coastal border to Mobile Bay Alabama. The Sound is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by a series of narrow islands including Cat Island, Ship, Horn, Petit Bois and Dauphine Islands. See enclosed 1860 survey.

The organization is hard at work researching and designing its habitat conservation plans and its community outreach campaigns. MSC needs assistance to ensure that these initiatives are implemented timely and sustainably. We need equipment, funding, and other resources to assist in this important work, and we are asking for your help. Please consider joining us in this very worthwhile effort by showing your monetary support for the health of the Mississippi Sound.

The Mississippi Sound Conservancy is an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Gifts and donations made to the organization are 100% tax-deductible. Should you have any questions you wish to have answered prior to making your decision to help, please feel free to contact us.
