The Mississippi Sound

What we do

Mississippi Sound Conservancy is developing and implementing ongoing science-based programs to restore and sustain critical aquatic habitats in the Mississippi Sound to benefit the fisheries. These programs will improve coastal and beachfront water quality.

The Mississippi Sound extends from Mississippi’s and Louisiana’s coastal border to Mobile Bay Alabama. The Sound is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by a series of narrow islands including Cat Island, Ship, Horn, Petit Bois, and Dauphine Islands.
